DIY Calendar Gift?

12/8/2016

Looking for a cute, easy DIY project?  Check out this fun calendar!  You have plenty of time to make a little calendar for 2017 as a gift, or even for yourself!

Last December, the Paper Pumpkin was this cute kit pictured to the right.  I used mine and then each month attached to a card base and mailed to someone who had a birthday that month.  Now that the year is over, I am left with the gold easel stand...

...until Stampin' Up! thought it would make us Paper Pumpkin subscribers super happy to have a 2017 template to use again on our easel!  Even if you didn't get this kit a year ago, you can still print this and create your own!

I printed mine on my color printer on Whisper White cardstock.  Then I trimmed down to size and used a  1/2" Circle Punch to indent the corners.

I decided to go with a different easel laying around.  I might make a base to layer each month when I have more time, but I actually love the simplicity of this.  What a cute gift idea...but I think I will keep it for myself!

If you use this and make a calendar of your own, make sure to share on my facebook page!

Craft Love for my Home State

While I haven't lived in Michigan since 5th grade, I still call it home.  Living in eight states thus far, I recognize Michigan as where any roots are planted and I decided to demonstrate that by stepping out of my papercrafting world to try something new.  I had acquired a canvas from a MOPS craft and decided to mod podge piece of torn paper in the background.  I love using up scrapbooking paper that has been sitting around awhile!  You can find the Pocketful of Posies pack on sale right now in the Clearance Rack!  I then printed an image of Michigan off the computer, cut it out, traced it, and painted inside the lines with gray acrylic paint.  Then I used (retired SU) chipboard letters, painted them on the front, and ran my Cherry Cobbler marker around the edges, which can be seen when looking it the canvas from an angle.  The button was added with some Baker's Twine to pinpoint my birthplace of Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit.  An easy craft for those who might want to show some craft love for their home state!
