On June 1st, 2018 Stampin' Up! releases its new annual catalog!

You can pick up your copy at the IN Stampers Retired Sale on June 9th or at one of my upcoming events.  I've already shared what is leaving, but what is coming?  While I can only show you the front cover until then, here's the list of my top 5 products on their way!

  1. Lined Alphabet Stamp Set & Layering Edgelit Dies.  Warning:  these are expensive!  But if bought together as a bundle, you save 10%.  Come use mine at events in June and try them out.  They are so cute!  The lowercase alphabet can be stamped and then you can use the dies to layer the letters together.  Or if you don't want them layered together, they can be snipped apart.  SU has a video coming soon!
  2. More Blends!  Currently, SU's alcohol markers are non-orderable until June 1 due to high demand.  Last year, the markers were offered in 12 colors, in a light and dark shade of each, plus the Ivory, Bronze and Color Lifter.  Next year, SU is retiring the Pink Pirouette color, but introducing 11 new colors, for a total of 22 colors, plus the Ivory, Bronze and Color Lifter.  Please note, they will no longer be available to purchase in a bundle.
  3. Stamparatus:  SU made our new stamp positioning tool available for a pre-order this winter.  If you didn't get your hands on one then, the tool will be available in the annual catalog.  I have one and love it, so can't wait for everyone to try it out at an upcoming event!
  4. Shammy:  SU still has the Stampin' Scrub and Mist, but is also introducing a Shammy to clean your stamps.  This is more thick, like a sponge pad, and probably needs to be stored in a clear stamp case.  But just add water and it will take the ink off your stamps!
  5. Big Shot Embossing Mats:  SU will have a video out soon to show us how these work, but think using your dies to emboss a card rather than cut.  Sounds like fun to me!

Fear Not...with Rose Wonder

1/22/2016

I am in love with the new Rose Wonder stamp set out of the 2016 Occasions catalog!
I bought it mainly for all the greeting stamps, many of which are encouraging, such as the verse from Isaiah 41:10 which says, "Fear not, for I am with you; do no be dismayed, for I am your God..."
I found this especially helpful in a current situation I am praying through, so decided to use the set as a Bible journaling page.  I stamped the flower and leaf images using Calypso Coral and Old Olive markers, huffed, then filled in with my new water color paints. The verse was stamped in black MementoLuxe ink.

The stamp can also be bought in a bundle with the matching framelits.  Here is a card I made using the framelits and then water colored with aqua painters.  We'll be making this card in my February  classes, if you are interested to make your own!

Check out the video below on what else you can make with this great set!

Did you know Stampin' Up! supports the Ronald McDonald House?  Every year SU offers one stamp set where they donate $3 for every set sold during the year.  This year, the set is called Flamingo Lingo.

Later this month, I am participating in a vendor event called the Degree of Honor Arts and Crafts Fair put on by a "non-profit volunteer organization that raises money to furnish supplies for various charities with the main focus on The Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House and Disabled American Veterans. Some of this includes donating personal care items to The Salvation Army battered women's shelter, toys for the annual Christmas Toy Shop, gas cards for veterans, food and personal items for the families who stay at Ronald McDonald House while their children are at Riley Hospital just to name a few."

To help support the Ronald McDonald House, please come visit me at this event or consider purchasing this adorable Flamingo Lingo stamp set.  From now until the event, I will be offering an additional 20% off the set (available through me, not my website).  Hope to see you there!

Fun With Friends

8/15/2014

Last weekend, I was able to make the trip with my friend Heather to Illinois for a card making weekend!  We arrived Friday night, just in time for my upline, Chris', techniques club.  We made these awesome cards:
Picture
Technique #1:  Clay Flowers
I miss making vintage inspired cards at Chris' classes!  She used the Simply Pressed Clay and Molds to make these flowers.  They are colored with markers, and the one on the bottom right was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The leaves are from the Bird Punch. The vase was made with a framelit trimmed down, heat embossed with gold embossing powder and then clear embossed all over to give it a shiny look.  I have never used clear embossing powder, so I love trying new things!

Picture
Technique #2:  Solid Image Tracing Technique
This adorable card was stamped using a solid image stamp from the Hello Darling set in a light color.  Then we used a fine tip black marker like the Project Life Journaling Pen to trace the image.  Then, the image was colored in using Blendabilities to create this unique look!  The greeting is from the Hostess set Hello There stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The embellishments use the Fringe Scissors, Vintage Buttons, Linen Thread, and Gold Sequins.

After staying with Chris, the next day we all headed to our upline, Gelnda Travelstead's Sneak Peek Holiday Catalog Stamping Event where we made 20 different cards using 5 new stamp sets from the forthcoming Holiday Catalog (which starts August 28, 2014)!

Stamp Set #1:  For All Things
I definitely think I could get a lot of mileage out of this set!  I love the watercolor look and the versatility.  Notice how you can use ink to get the whole text "Grateful for You" (bottom right) or color with your marker to get just one word "Grateful" (top right).

Picture
Stamp Set #2:  Endless Wishes
This stamp set has been a popular photopolymer which has returned to the Holiday Catalog.  I love the look of white snowflakes on Crumb Cake cardstock, as seen on the bottom right.  The new Tree Punch makes this a cute, easy card to mass produce.

Picture
Stamp Set #3:  Letterpress Winter
This set makes a sort of snowflake image.  I love the fact that it is photopolymer which means you can arrange the stamps on your clear blocks how you want.  So in one card the season's greetings is stacked and on the other it is on one line.

Picture
Stamp Set #4:  Mingle All the Way
This set is one that I was left wishing I had bought.  The card on the top left can be punched out with a punch and the other three used framelits.  The bottom right was my first attempt at a shaker card.  There is a clear bag in the window there with confetti stars that move when you shake it!  A little difficult, but awesome!

Picture
Stamp Set #5:  Ornamental Pine
Of the stamps sets we used, this is the only one I had purchased, so you might see some of these cards at my Christmas card class in December.  I love the wreath on the door card!
