DIY Calendar Gift?

12/8/2016

Looking for a cute, easy DIY project?  Check out this fun calendar!  You have plenty of time to make a little calendar for 2017 as a gift, or even for yourself!

Last December, the Paper Pumpkin was this cute kit pictured to the right.  I used mine and then each month attached to a card base and mailed to someone who had a birthday that month.  Now that the year is over, I am left with the gold easel stand...
Picture
...until Stampin' Up! thought it would make us Paper Pumpkin subscribers super happy to have a 2017 template to use again on our easel!  Even if you didn't get this kit a year ago, you can still print this and create your own!
Picture
I printed mine on my color printer on Whisper White cardstock.  Then I trimmed down to size and used a  1/2" Circle Punch to indent the corners.

I decided to go with a different easel laying around.  I might make a base to layer each month when I have more time, but I actually love the simplicity of this.  What a cute gift idea...but I think I will keep it for myself!

If you use this and make a calendar of your own, make sure to share on my facebook page!

Valentine's Day Shaker Card

2/10/2016

Have you ever wondered what to do with the edges of your Dimensionals? Make sure you don't throw them away!  Normally, I use my Snips to cut them up and use as smaller dimensionals, great for adding dimension to something small!  But, they also make great strips to use when making a shaker card!

Next, choose your background piece.  I chose this embossed piece from the Memories in the Making Project Life Specialty Card Collection free during 2016 Sale-A-Bration.

After I lined the card with dimensionals, I added some sequins I had left over from the December 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit, plus I pulled some off the Gold Sequin Trim.

Next, I picked one of the cards from the Project Life pack.  It comes with 30 specialty cards in the colors of Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, gold, silver, Tempting Turquoise, Watermelon Wonder, and white, including a selection of acetate cards with metallic ink.  I chose the heart, but the dimensionals were visible underneath, so I added another card with gold trim on top.

Next, I used leftovers from the January 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit to add those strips behind, adhered on to a piece of Rose Red cardstock, and then stamped the greeting from the And Many More stamp set.  A fun card, perfect for Valentine's Day!

Stamp Out Breast Cancer!

To show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re going PINK . . . or at least our October Paper Pumpkin boxes are! And, we’re excited to announce that Stampin’ Up! will make a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The best part—our AMAZING subscribers will determine the amount of the donation!

Stampin’ Up! will donate
:
  • $1 for every active Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
  • Plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber who signs up by October 10, 2015.

Want to see the latest Paper Pumpkin kit?  The September kit is called Wickedly Sweet Treats and came with enough to make 8 teat bags.  I love how it used Cajun Craze for the orange, rather than a typical Halloween orange like Pumpkin Pie (shown here is my full-size ink pad, but the kit comes with a smaller ink spot).  The instructions were helpful, but I always prefer to watch the monthly video.

I filled my bags with caramels, just like the video.  These will be perfect at my craft fair booths this fall!

And for those of you who just prefer cards, the stamp set is adorable and can make cute cards such as the one below by Seongsook Duncan‎.

I love Halloween, but more for the fun of dressing up, not necessarily for all the sweets.  I have never had much of a sweet tooth, but when the sweets come wrapped up in cute packaging, I could change my mind!

Already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber?  Looking for a way to store all of the stamps you get in your Paper Pumpkin kits?  One idea is to order empty stamp cases and then decorate the case so you can easily identify those stamps from your others.  Here is a sample I made:

Or you can always use these templates to print off covers for your cases:

Looking for ideas on how to recycle your Paper Pumpkin box?  Simply fold your box inside out and decorate! Perfect for gift giving or shipping packages in the mail!  Or in my case, I decorated to store "Extra Goodies" left over from past kits (embellishments or other supplies besides stamps).

June's Paper Pumpkin was amazing!
I forgot to snap a picture when I opened it, but it contained the following, enough to make 24 pinwheels:

Here is a picture of 3 pinwheels I made.  I had the jar leftover from a gift I received.

Here are some alternate projects I made with the included supplies:
And I had so many supplies leftover I made some Halloween goodies using the included treat bags,
white banners, and paper clips!
P.S.  Like the stamp set I used?  It's coming out later this year as a hostess reward!
