Last month in VIP, we tried the alcohol ink technique I had been seeing posted all over social media. So for VIP, we made 3 cards, 2 of which were inspired by Melva Peters & Alisa Tilsner. Check out the supply list & video to explain since it is easier to see than read! Happy crafting! Let's make 3 cards using the alcohol ink technique! Here's the supply list:
This month in VIP class was the fan favorite...fancy folds! We made a bookmark card, easel card, & pinwheel tower card. See the descriptions below for more details on each card! The bookmark card was CASED from Beverlee using the Every Chapter stamp set, heat embossed in gold, and Expressions in Ink DSP added to the sides. Next, use an exacto knife to cut a slit along the top of the tea cup. Make sure to have a foam mat underneath! Then use the Slim Sayings stamp set for the sentiment on the bookmark, also heat embossed in gold on kraft paper. Then staple on some ribbon and insert into the slit. The easel card was CASED from Debbie Mageed using the Awesome Otters stamp set. I used the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP to mat the otters. Use dimensionals to pop up the one at the bottom so the otter on the top can catch and stand up on display. We used the Pool Party and Smoky Slate Blends to color and made out own balloon using a circle punch and black marker. And the last card is a Pinwheel Tower card. I used the measurements in this video to make an A2 sized version on Evening Evergreen cardstock, decorated using the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP and Plentiful Plants Bundle. I also added one sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set because it went perfectly with the plant theme: "May Good Things Grow All Year Long." The fun part is the card has 4 "scenes" but lays down flat to fit inside a regular envelope!
We are halfway through the 30 Day Scrap Challenge, but it's not too late to join in and catch up...or start the challenge whenever you are ready! See details by watching the video below, then print out your calendar, and see the full playlist on YouTube! Want to join the conversation and see more ideas? Head over to the Stamp with Cheryl Facebook group! ![]() This month in VIP Class, we experimented with soft pastels, a new product introduced in the Annual Catalog last May. These easy to use chalk pastels work with a variety of coloring tools like Stampin' Up!'s Sponge Daubers, Blending Brushes, and Water Painters. Here’s a fun tip: Try scribbling your pastel chalk on a scrap piece of paper to create chalk dust, then use your Water Painters to create your very own watercolor paints! We tried a few different ways to use them on our 3 cards:
The pack comes with 8 colors: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade. They come in a cardboard case for storage and are a great price at only $9! Expand your coloring repertoire & try these out yourself!
Thanks to IndyMaven for featuring my upcoming Card Class on Fox59 this morning! I have to agree, grab a friend and come make some cards yourself rather than settling on store-bought cards! Check on the segment below and register for upcoming events here!
