This year, I had a desire to make an advent calendar to start a family tradition for counting down the days till Christmas. I think the idea came in correspondence of seeing this pin on Pinterest. I found the calendars at Hobby Lobby for $15.99 and then spent almost 5 hours decorating it! The Designer Series Paper I used is called Candlelight Christmas and is currently on the Clearance Rack! I used various number stickers I had on hand and the Memorable Moments stamp set and then a bunch of punches to decorate. I found that Snail didn't work at all, so I used Mod Podge to adhere it. Just be careful not so smear any ink! I sold this one at a Craft Fair shortly after making it, so I guess it's time to make another one for our family!
On my second attempt, I decided to try the new photopolymer set, 25 Days, available in the current Holiday Catalog. Since these stamps only come in photopolymer, you will need a clear block (the D Block worked well). I used Old Olive, Real Red, and Crushed Curry for the ink colors and cardstock, and other than that, just a lot of punches! This time, I tried mini glue dots to adhere and that seemed to work fine! I like the unique way of numbering to give it a more modern feel. Look forward to counting down till Christmas!
