This week I am down in Naples, Florida to see one of my best friends, Jen, get married. I met Jen during the summer between our junior and senior years of high school where we were assigned roommates at a summer college program. We drove two hours to visit each other several times during our senior year before venturing off to be roommates in Colorado. We have stayed close ever since and I am so happy that she seems to have found God's match for her life and wish her a lifetime of happiness.
For her wedding gift, I knew I wanted to make her a set of thank you notes. I knew they needed to be charcoal and pink to match her wedding colors, so I used Basic Grey and Blushing Bride with Very Vanilla and Smoky Slate accents. I thought the Million & One stamp set was fancy enough for a wedding. And the finishing touch had to use the new Envelope Liners Framelits Dies. I have read several comments from other stampers who think this product is just a "lost art" and extraneous. After all, the recipient of your card just rips open the envelope and throws it away, right? Plus, the liners use a lot of paper. While those comments are both true, I couldn't imagine giving a set of thank you notes for a wedding gift without them. My new resolution (maybe I'll start next January) is every envelope needs to be decorated, whether it be with a stamp or the liners. Mostly stamps, but special envelopes for special friends will definitely include the liners!
