It's a new year and I am resolving to make Bible Journaling part of every week! I am excited to resume my monthly Bible Journaling group on the 4th Tuesday of each month, where we worked on this page together. We were assigned the verse Psalm 118:24 and we have a month to study, reflect, and create how we feel led.
On the left page, with the help of some new friends, I tried using gesso and acrylic paint for the first time. I used a strip of washi tape to create the straight line and then when the paint dried, removed the washi tape. My plan was to trace a template after painting the page, but I quickly learned you can't see through the page after using gesso and paint. So I decided to just stamp flowers over the paint with a few word stickers added.
I then had to move my verse over to the right hand page. I traced a Karla Dornacher design in pencil, then over again with my favorite black marker. Since the verse seemed so uplifting (especially for a melancholy temperament like me!), I decided to use a lot of bright colors: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush and Melon Mambo seemed perfect! I then used Blender Pens to color in the drawing, my favorite tool for not bleeding much through the page. I pray that I am thankful for every day God has given me!
